Hårek (Paal Hårek Stranheim)
Hårek invented Norseman. He was the race director from 2003 to 2005. He has done the crew race and earned the black t-shirt in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008, and white in 2006. Norseman PB at 14,29. 13 ironman-distances in total. Hårek hates hills.
Hårek used to be the slowest long distance triathlete in Norway. Instead of training harder, he decided to try to recruit other slow moving sportsmen. First he found the most beautiful and hilly part of Norway, and then he invited them to do the thoughest triathlon on earth. This is the history of Norseman.
He is also a member of Oslofjord Triatlon. This is a fine collection of mostly slow and always friendly triathletes. He is the father of Rebekka and William. William did an half ironman when he was 14,5 years and then retired.
Hårek is currently on an extended sabattical from the Norseman Organisation, but he has already signed up for the 10 year anniversary of Norseman Xtreme Triathlon in 2012.
