Norseman 2012
Norseman Xtreme Triathlon will celebrate it`s 10th anniversary in 2012, and to mark this we will arrange the competition two days in a row.
Since the start in 2003 Norseman has grown into a world famous event where the demand for slots far surpasses what we have available. By adding one more day to the event in 2012 we plan to let a total of 500 people start. The dates will be Saturday August 4th and Sunday August 5th.
We have been meeting with our local teams and local town officials in Eidfjord and Rjukan. The feedback is very positive, and work is already underway on creating additional activities at both ends of the race.
All former winners will of course be invited, our founder Paal Hårek Stranheim has also promised his comeback on the Norseman course in 2012.
We are experiencing massive interest from future participants already. We will open up for enrollment for the 2012 edition in mid-October.
The current plan is that we will basically use the same selection process that we used for this years event.
- There will be an elite quota where a jury will select athletes based on merits.
- A lottery of the majority of the slots.
By invitation by the Race Director.
