Norseman Tattoo

Date 05/31/2009

When surfing around the pages of TrTalk.co.uk, we suddenly recognized a well known logo tattooed on the calf of an athlete!

So, we just had to find out more about this, and contacted the lucky owner.

Who are you, and what is your link to Norseman?
My name is Chris Adams, I am 24, although I was 23 when I took part in the
Norseman this year. I was born 26.08.1983, and live in Stroud, England.

The Norseman was my first Ironman distance triathlon, and only my third
triathlon in total.

I decided to take part after my flatmate Ross Lovell did the event in
2004. I was supported in the event this year by Accelerace and
EnduranceLife.

So - what is the story behind the tattoo?
I enjoyed myself tremendously during the event, and although it was very
difficult, I will definitely do it again. I put a lot of effort into
training for it and the whole event, including all the scenery and the
setting in Norway, and the reputation of the Norseman in the Triathlon
world inspired me to get the tattoo on my right calf. It is identical to
the font used on the Norseman website and literature, and inspires me to
keep fit and give 100%.

What is your triathlon plans for 2008?
Due to other commitments I will be scaling down my plans for Ironman next year, although I will be competing in three half-ironman distance events. However, I should still be back at the Norseman next year as part of the support crew for my friends Ross Lovell and Chris Grundberg, who are also part of Team Accelerace. I hope to compete again in the Norseman in 2009!
