Support on the bike and run leg
We have been informed by some of you that the information in our manuals about what your support is allowed to do is not clear and consistent. We are sorry for that, and would therfore like to make the following clear :
New design!
Expect new design at the finisher tee´s and banners this year! We have worked with the Norwegian designers Maria Tovslid and Jostein Sandersen, and they have really put in a lot of great effort in this project!
Meet the athletes - Even Hersleth
The Norwegian athlete Even Hersleth is one of this years favourites. He has done remarkably well in the Norwegian triathlon series this year. We had a talk to him four weeks before the race.
Meet the athletes - Steinar Kristoffersen
Next in our series of "Meet the athletes" is Steinar Kristoffersen. A 43 year old Norwegian with an interesting research project attached to Norseman!
Important Safety message
You need to bring light for your bike, and a reflective vest. Lights have to be both a red light for rear and white in front.
This is due to an order from the local police authorities. The quality of the old tourist road, through the old tunnels, is reduced due to not solid rock in the mountain. Therefore we are not able to use the old tourist road, but have to use the main road up to the first mountain top.
All competitors will need to have lights on the bike and reflective vest to be permitted to start. We strongly recommend that you bring the stuff with you from home. If you don't, then you might need to buy the light system in Eidfjord to be allowed to start.
Tri Idol
Vår sponsor INTERSPORT arrangerer TRI IDOL treningshelg der du kan vinne startplass til årets Norseman! Bli med fjorårs vinner Tom Remman og Henrik Oftedal for å trene på Geilo 1-4 juli.
The road is ready for you!
There is less snow than normal in the Norwegian mountains. This is bad news for all customers of electricity, and good news for everybody who is afraid of cold water in the Hardangerfjorden in August.
Meet the athletes - Ingvill Merete Stedøy-Johansen
In our ongoing series - Meet the athlete - we are presenting Ingvill Merete Stedøy-Johansen. Ingvill Merete has started Norseman two times before and will be back this year!
Valhalla, I am coming!
Herbert Krabel first told me about Norseman. He said, Lanzarote, housewives do it. Embrum, Inferno, Altriman: mom and pop events. Kona, sure it’s hard to get into, but then what’s hard about it? Not getting the little umbrella in your drink? I’ll tell you what’s hard, Norseman is hard.
