We had a talk to last years winner, Tom Remman, just six days before race start in Eidfjord

What are your expectations regarding your own race before this years Norseman Xtreme Triathlon?

I am really looking forward to this years Norseman. I expect good swimmers this year and I hope I can get some drafting out of it. Some of the top swimmers in Norway will participate and off course I hope for rough seaconditions as well. I am well prepared and due to my own testresults I am in better shape this year, and lets say I am quite amibitious about the race.

What do you fear in this years Norseman, what could ruin your own performance?
Really, I do not fear the course. I have been through it a couple of times and after living in Geilo for three years I can say that Norseman begins at Geilo. Maybe it could be somewhat slippery down the Imingfjell due to bad weather but hope I can manage the turns anyway. Then it is not good to loose your support, They have to stay in touch all time.
Also, this year we have very strong athletes. Both foreigns and norwegians. I have seen some good results frome the Belgians. I have great respect for those who have qualified for Hawaii, and you will find some of them on this years startlist.
In the end I hope our Team Nakamura Triathlon will do well, We have four strong athletes ready to race.

Why did you choose to race Norseman this year?
It is the ultimate one day race you ever can imagine. The race is the most spectacular race in Norway, and you will have to cope with weather, hills, turns, food and your self for less than 11 hours... (I hope...)
I have a dream about seeing the 10 numbers, and I really think if you are going to win this year you will have to race high 10. Off course you will have tailwind during Hardangervidda to manage that.
Wish you all the best of luck and see you in Eidfjord.
Bring it on and let the Norseman begin!
