Entering the World Championship

The 2026 XTRI World Championship is already full.

To qualify for the 2027 World Championship, you need to be a top finisher in one of the qualifying XTRI World Tour races. Winners and runners-up are invited. This follows the calendar year (2026), and the invitation is for the year following their win (2027).

Other ways in:

PRO/Elite athletes may apply based on merits from 2024, 2025 or 2026. We may have a slot available for you if you consider yourself a suitable candidate for the win. Sebastian Kienle (second place in 2023), Laura Zimmermann (female XTRI World Champion 2024), Kristian Grue (current male XTRI World Champion) and Julia Skala (current female XTRI World Champion) got a PRO slot in the last three years.

Minimum merit requirements to apply for women:
Please submit a link to your PTO ranking and the best result from 2024, 2025, or 2026, and email it to us.

Applications are submitted during enrolment by entering the requested PRO/Elite information. Applications are then evaluated by our jury, which ranks them and awards World Championship slots to the top-ranked athletes.

Pro/Elite athletes who do not qualify for the World Championship will be moved to the general Norseman draw.
