THe ballot
Opens: Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 15:00 CEST
Closes: Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 23:59 CEST.
The Draw: Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Results of the draw: Wednesday, October 21 at 20:00 CEST on YouTube.
Everyone entering the ballot will receive the draw result by email on Thursday, October 22.
This is a lottery.
Norseman Xtreme Triathlon 2027 start places are allocated by random draw. Everyone can enter the ballot, only restriction is the age limit (see below). Entering the ballot does not guarantee a start place.
What you are buying.
Your ballot fee of 10 EUR buys you a ticket in the draw. Your first year of applying gives you 1 ticket. A second consecutive unsuccessful year gives you 2 tickets, and a third gives you 3. The counter resets when you are drawn or when you skip a year.
Number of lots.
A maximum of 15 000 ballot tickets may be sold in this lottery. Only lots that are actually sold take part in the draw — unsold lots are not included.
The prize.
130 start places at Norseman Xtreme Triathlon on Saturday 7 August 2027. A start place gives you the right to register and pay the race entry fee of 545 EUR. Start places are personal and cannot be sold or transferred.
Your chance of winning.
With 130 start slots drawn from a maximum of 15 000 lots, each lot has a chance of a minimum of 0,57%-2,32%. The actual chance may be higher, depending on how many lots are sold. The final number of lots sold will be published together with the result.
Claiming your place.
If you are drawn, you claim your place by registering and paying the entry fee by November 14.
Age limit.
18 or older on race day Saturday August 1, 2027.
No refunds and no right of withdrawal.
The ballot fee is non-refundable and is not returned if you are not drawn. Under Norwegian law, gambling agreements are exempt from the statutory right of withdrawal.
Questions or complaints.
If you believe you have not received a prize you are entitled to, or that something went wrong with the lottery, you have the right to complain to us at this address. We will respond within 10 working days.

A total of 333 start slots will be allocated for the 2027 edition of Norseman Xtreme Triathlon.
Based on past experience, this will leave us with around 250-255 athletes on the start line in Eidfjord on race day.

The ballot is open to all athletes and one ticket costs 10 Euro.
From the 2016 race, we started giving extra chances for athletes not successful in the draw.
Adding an extra chance for every consecutive unsuccessful year in the ballot.
First-year applicants receive one chance in the draw.
