For the 2027 edition of Norseman, a total of 16,033 athletes entered the ballot before it closed at 23:59 on Sunday 11 October, more than twice as many as last year. At the same time, Norseman is attracting younger athletes and significantly more women: the median age has fallen from 38 to 34, while the number of female entrants has almost tripled to 1,907.

Shipbuilder Vard Group AS is the new Summit Partner of Norseman Xtreme Triathlon. The agreement covers the 2027–2029 races, and two Vard employees will already be on the start line in Eidfjord next summer.

Ten cyclists have died on Norwegian roads so far this year. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration is now considering cutting the speed limit from 80 to 60 km/h on roads popular for cycling training, and is calling for a national effort on cycling safety. Norseman wants to take part.
